The electoral success of the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt has further increased the pressure on the federal government: the result from a week ago is also an issue at the retreat of the CSU board. Party leader Söder warned of a failure of the federal government and said that the reforms that have been initiated must now be brought forward quickly. Söder literally declared: "Standstill is the best fuel for the AfD". Saxony's Prime Minister Kretschmer from the CDU was a guest in Munich. He said that democracy is best defended by solving the problems that are there from the point of view of the population.
